AFRICA/ANGOLA - Bishop of Uíje resigns, success appointed

Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) - The Holy Father, Pope Benedict XVI, on 2 February 2008 accepted the resignation of the pastoral government of the diocese of Uíje (Angola), presented by Bishop José Francisco Moreira dos Santos, O.F.M. Cap., in conformity with the Code of Canon Law, canon 401 § 1, who is succeeded by Bishop Emilio Sumbelelo, Coadjutor of the same diocese. (S.L.) (Agenzia Fides 4/2/2008; Righe 4; Parole 62)
