Tai Pei (Agenzia Fides) - “To learn more about the Lord day by day, on the way to Baptism. This is simple. This is the faith. On this path I have met many other young people, and I know the greatness of the Lord”. A girl from Taiwan took part in the World Youth Day in Cologne Germany in 2005 Colonia 2005, said this during a meeting in preparation for the next World Youth Day this year in Sydney. According to Christian Life Weekly bulletin published by the diocese of Tai Pei, young people in Taiwan are accelerating their preparation for Sydney. One boy said: “Looking back on 2005 I am moved and I say to the Lord ‘Yes, I Do’. In these two years I have shared my experience with many friends. I have learned to see and encounter God in nature, the mountains, the river, in the people around me”. Another girls continues: “the pilgrimage towards WYD is a path of faith and heart. We can travel to Cologne, to Rome to Lourdes by ship or by air, but we are not certain to have a spiritual revelation of Our Lady or that we can understand that Jesus founded his Church on the rock of Peter in St Peter's Basilica. We experienced this on our pilgrimage towards WYD 2005”. Young Catholics of Taiwan are looking forward to reliving this special experience in Sydney in July.
