VATICAN - On December 8 the Congregation for the Clergy doubled its web services: new edition in Portuguese, the Holy Bible in nine languages, spiritual support for priests

Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) - On the solemnity of the Immaculate Conception the web site of the Congregation for the Clergy marked its 9th anniversary: a direct service, first of all for the clergy, deacons and catechists all over the world but also for any interested 'surfer'. Besides a vast library, a valid aid for study, formation, liturgy and spirituality, "clerus.org" provides statistics on the situation of the clergy in the world and an e-mail service through which priests can register and receive documentation for the Holy See and message from the Prefect Cardinal Claudio Hummes. In addition to Italian, English, French, Spanish and German, a Portuguese page is now available.
A new page is: "bibliaclerus.org" which makes available the contents of a CD of the Bible in nine languages: from Hebrew and Greek to the most widely-spoken modern languages which can be read in parallel. Bible verses are connected with passages which have as a basis the interpretation of Church Tradition and Magisterium, and comments on theology, spirituality and liturgy. The material can be easily down loaded. Both clerus.org and bibliaclerus.org are available also in a CD Rom version for people with no access to the Internet, and these CDs have already been sent to 140.000 priests and deacons all over the world. The feast of the Immaculate Conception marked the launching of a programme of Eucharistic Adoration and spiritual maternity to sustain priests the world over. (S.L.)
