VATICAN - The Pontifical Institute John Paul II for Studies on Marriage and the Family confers honorary doctorates on Prof. Tadeusz Styczeń and Prof. Eugenia Scabini

Roma (Agenzia Fides) - Today 6 December, the Pontifical Institute John Paul II for Studies on Marriage and the Family conferred honorary doctorates on Prof. Tadeusz Styczeń and Prof. Eugenia Scabini. Opening the solemn act the director of the Institute Prof. Livio Melina, said “we recognise Prof. Tadeusz Styczeń and Prof. Eugenia Scabini as maestri; with their contribution to research on the truth they have become points of reference for our academic work”.
Prof. Styczeń has devoted his studies to the foundations of ethics in the viewpoint indicated by Maestro, Karol Wojtyla. His numerous publications earned him recognition as one of the most authoritative commentators on the thought of Wojtyła and its connection with the Magisterium of John Paul II. Prof. Scabini received the honorary doctorate for her outstanding contribution to understanding family bonds and attention to their social importance in view of unity among generations. She has worked not only in Milan, at the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore but in other countries as can be seen by numerous international collaborations and membership at major Centres of Research. During the academic act the new 'doctors' gave magisterial lectures respectively on “ Karol Wojtyla appropriate anthropology: portrait of the man” (Prof. Styczen) and “Family and intergenerational relations” (Prof. Scabini).
