VATICAN - TODAY ON THE INTERNET - World Conference of Church Bodies working for Justice and Peace (22-24 Nov.) - Diocese of Mongu in Zambia marks ten glorious years

Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) - The 2nd World Conference for Church Bodies working for Justice and Peace, on Friday 23 November, will focus on present day challenges to development - the person and the concept of “human ecology”, pluralism and interculturality, globalisation and “governance” - from the view point of Church teaching. The day will include reports on situations in the various continents and group discussion on conflict, poverty and inequality, democracy and environment.
- Ten years ago Pope John Paul II created the diocese in Mongu in West Province of Zambia and appointed as first Bishop of Mongu Fr Paul DUFFY, OMI from the United States, a member of one of the first OMI communities in Zambia.
