Sr. Llasos said it was not easy to follow her vocation: “when I took part in discernment groups with the sisters I realised by vocation. But things were difficult, the family needed support, my father was ill, my younger brother had to study… . But the Lord made it possible. My aunt, who was totally against my decision, said in the end ‘the Lord Himself opened the way for you’”. Sr Maricris is not the first housekeeper to join the MNDA. The provincial superior says, “at the beginning of October a woman from Philippines who used to work in Hong Kong took her perpetual vows in Japan, and in December we will have another new Sister in the Philippines. But what counts for us is not quantity but quality. Good preparation, willingness to respond to the vocation, and build an intimate relationship with the Lord”.
